Yesterday, Gina and Linda and Lola came to visit me for a fitting! Here are the pictures of Gina in the dress so far. I have some changes to make and work on the skirt, but here's what this fitting looked like!
Hello Everyone! My name is Chelsea, and I've been asked by my brother's lovely fiancee to make her wedding dress! This is going to be a journal of the process, with pictures and explanations as to how I go about doing this awesome project :-)
In college I worked in the theater department, in both the costume shop and the stage shop. During my junior year, I did an independent study with the costume shop supervisor and created a corset and petticoat from the 1500's. This was the precursor for my senior project (which was my thesis) For that I built a dress from a painting from 1520. I loved working in theater, but was unable to do so in the real world. However, this is allowing me to indulge my creative side for a while. I am super excited about this!
If you've found my blog, and DON'T know me, please leave a comment saying how you found me, and what you interest is! I've gotten some hits from all different countries, so I'm curious!
